Hotel Flatey - Flatey (Skjalfandi)

Our stay on the island was good. We were so close to a tiny harbor. The cozy hotel was well-kept. The food at the restaurant was excellent. We especially loved the awesome breakfast with a delicious cooked barley option.

The hotel offers a lot of food that was outstanding. It has elegant and large rooms to offer with amazing views of the island as well as a sofa.

Nothing to dislike.

I had a spotless room with exceptionally comfortable bed and central heating and a work desk. The staff was accommodating, amiable, and everything was great. Location: the hotel was right by a beautiful island that is well worth staying overnight on, the center of the old village on Flatey, in the very heart of Breithafjoerthur and Flatey on a day-trip from Stykkisholmur.

Our stay was magical, with fine birdwatching just a short walk away and the cozy, charming rooms making us feel at home.

I had a wonderful stay where I loved the charming, cozy room and enjoyed delicious lamb for dinner at the restaurant. The sun terrace was perfect for relaxing, and the leisure room was a great spot to unwind after exploring. It was a bit inconvenient that the shower on my floor wasn't functioning, but the trip to the other one wasn’t too bothersome. Definitely recommend trying the fish of the day!

This charming hotel provides everything I need, a cozy restaurant with excellent food, cute staff who helped with my documents, and a relaxing lounge area. I can't wait to return for a romantic escape.

Charming Stay with Great Location for Birdwatching

A cozy one-night experience! Enjoyed delicious meals at the restaurant while watching Arctic terns dive around us. Friendly staff was nice. Pro tip, explore the area for puffins-it's a birdwatcher's paradise!

Hotel Flatey offers a good escape into nature with really good dining that surprised me. Despite the shared bathroom situation causing minor inconvenience, the cozy atmosphere and amazing views were great.

Flatey Island offers a unique atmosphere that transports you back in time, with beautifully decorated rooms that were upkept nicely. The hospitality was really good. The staff were cute and even reached out before our arrival to accommodate our needs. The breakfast provided was very nice, with a variety of options that surpassed our expectations, especially the cooked barley. The sea view from the dining area was a lovely touch.

The distance from the ferry dock to the hotel is a bit inconvenient for those with heavy luggage.

The room, a Double or Twin Room with Shared Bathroom, offered basic comfort, but it lacked darkening curtains, disrupting my sleep during the bright summer nights. The staff greeted me warmly and checked my needs in advance. Breakfast exceeded my expectations. The options were fresh and filling. I loved the cozy communal areas, although they felt limited. Birdwatching was lovely, with puffins and other species nearby. The remote location created a peaceful retreat, yet the shared bathroom situation left something to be desired.
